Welcome to the Outdoor Homeschool Collective!
We are a team of parents who decided to follow our dreams of living and raising our children in the forest and found our home in the San Bernardino Mountains. We've blended our dynamic backgrounds to create this eclectic homeschool enrichment program.
Outdoor Homeschool Collective immerses children in the love and wonder of nature and play. Activities follow the seasons, children’s interests, and pace and are designed to holistically nourish a solid foundation for learning and building healthy relationships through play, song, movement, crafts, wondering out loud, stories, and nature connection.

I am grateful to be part of Outdoor Homeschool Collective. I am a mother of 2 children. I am a forever student of Herbalism, with multiple certificates, and I continue to learn online and in the field. I have an organic herbal skincare line called Love's Aura. I was the co-teacher of the Seeds of Love Herbal Study Group in Maui for 2 years and designed a Community Herb Garden there at Pono Grown Farm Center. I also worked in the Special Ed field for 12 years prior to that. I traveled and lived on a variety of farms, learning permaculture methods, and receiving hands on experience of organic farming and homesteading. I love making concoctions, plant medicine, ferments, and meals from scratch. I wish to continually grow in my ability to live the good old-fashioned way. I am happy to call Twin Peaks home and look forward to sharing my skills and learning new ones as well. I have felt the healing power of nature and wish for our children to have that empowering connection as well.
I’ve always dreamed of working with kids and creating environments that they can thrive in – nature and art were always part of that dream. I'm over the moon seeing this come to life as Outdoor Nature Collective. I’ve had the chance to work in after school programs and as a therapist in the mental health field since 2005. Incorporating aspects of play, song, nature, Spirit, imagery and energy into my work was not only healing for my clients but also for me, especially after having my own children. I’ve been dabbling with eco therapy, permaculture, plant medicine, martial arts, indigenous skills and ancestral healing through taking classes, community circles, and formal training. In summer 2023, I took a magical training with the Academy of Forests Kindergarten Teachers and am now taking that leap of faith in establishing the Outdoor Homeschool Collective. I am eternally grateful to call this part of the forest in Crestline home and finding like minded families.
I absolutely love living in Crestline and getting to know the ecosystems of the San Bernardino mountains. I am thrilled to be able to apply my science and teaching backgrounds to outdoor education. I hold a BA in Biology from Williams College, an MS in Biology from CSU Fullerton, and a high school teaching credential from Mills College, and have experience teaching students from preschool to college. Among the many other jobs I have held are intertidal ecologist, karate teacher, and environmental educator on a wooden tallship.
Currently, I care for Three Cedars Farm in Crestline and run a summer STEAM camp. I am also homeschooling my six year old. I believe in the healing power of nature, the communal power of singing together, and the educational power of free play.
